Just a quick pencil drawing I did today ... and I actually liked it up untill the point where I scanned it.
Why is it that when I finally get a scanner it RUINS all my drawings ? This is so unfair !
It was also too big for the scanner so it managed to delete a good part of the drawing ... oh well ...
This is really really good! I never did very well in more realistic drawings, but you are very good at it! I like the expression the best; keep up the great work!
I like this piece a lot. My first thoughts were that this girl is extremely happy and you did a great job of showing it, however, the more i look at her, her smile and eyes seemed to be lying... I dont know i might just be thinking about it too much, but keep up the good work.
Damn, those hands! the hands alone could make an interesting art-piece just by themselves. A good drawing overall, the girl comes off as exciting and energetic which gives some life to the colourless picture.
After reading ~bradyechieldi comment... I can't help but feel the same, i cover up one side with my hand and she looks very happy (the side with move) but when you cover the otherside, where you can only see her hands and an eye... she does look very dark/scared or just faking her happiness emotion you believe to be there.
Thanks for joining the Comments Circle . I admire anyone who can draw but it's rare to find someone with such a beautiful skill for chiaroscuro. The fingers are definitely my favourite feature of this work.
Yeah scanning can really mess up a picture. o.o Try upping your DPI (dots per inch) it'll make the picture bigger overall, but would reduce the blurriness your getting. 1200 DPI is about the ideal for drawings and such.. but the picture WILL come out huge. o.o hope you have a way to resize.
As for the pic of itself its adorable ^_^ I love the expression! and the hands are just perfect. and of course nice shading!
